Monday to Thursday 7am to 5pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join a busy and well-established steel manufacturing facility in Thornaby.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident crane operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and has experience handling steel products safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a remote-control overhead crane safely and efficiently.
• Slinging and moving steel tubes and components around the production area.
• Supplying materials to welders and production operatives.
• Loading, unloading and positioning materials in line with production requirements.
• Following all site health and safety procedures.
• Conducting pre-use equipment checks and reporting any defects.
• Working as part of a team to maintain productivity and quality standards.

Requirements

Valid Overhead Crane Licence (essential)
Previous experience operating a remote-control overhead crane
Experience within a steel manufacturing, fabrication or production environment
Competent in slinging and lifting operations
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced production environment
Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

Desirable

• Previous experience working within a welding or fabrication workshop.
• Experience handling steel tubes, beams or heavy materials.
