Position: 3D CAD Designer

Location: Merthyr Tydfil, Ebbw Vale, Aberdare, Pontypridd

Industry: Manufacturing

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Shift Pattern: Days regular

Duties:

  • Will be expected to have a Degree in a suitable Mechanical discipline or similar, (or Time Served considered, but with at least 10 years' experience in this role.
  • Must be highly experienced and knowledgably in the use of AutoCAD 3D Inventor.
  • Must have some experience of using other drawing platforms such as NAVIS Works, specifically to be able to transfer models between packages.
  • Must be highly experienced in the design of static structures and to some degree dynamic structures.
  • Must have experience of mechanical conveyor design (specifically belt and roller).
  • Must have experience of designing machine guarding to the relevant standards.
  • Must have experience in working with other materials other than steel, such as Plastics etc.
  • Must have experience of mechanism design, using various types of motors and actuators (electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic), but only from a mechanical perspective.
  • Experience of FEA Stress Analysis would be an advantage but not an absolute requirement.
  • Candidate should have exceptional time keeping, be able to fully manage their own time, but also be able to work in a team to tight schedules.
