Search for Breeder Service Team Member jobs in Carlisle, Cumbria
Stafforce Carlisle are currently working with a national food manufacturing company in their search for a Breeder Service Team Member, based in rural Carlisle. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth, and a need for team expansion to meet work demands.
This position is not for somebody looking for a mundane 9 to 5 - the role is varied, and will see you working with various partner farms to assist with the vaccination and transfer of birds. Through periods requiring the execution of labour-intensive operations, you will be on hand to assist, contributing towards the final product, and of course maximising the numbers of hatching eggs of the highest quality. You will also provide expert support with the placement of chicks, weighing and grading, flock transshipment and, when the flock allows, sampling and collection of eggs. You will be provided with a shared work van, and therefore it is a requirement for you to have a full, clean UK Driving Licence, and to hold no driving convictions.
Your experience will, of course, be built working in farming and agriculture, with a specific weighting on poultry, for at least 5 years. You will now be searching for an incredibly hands-on role, where you can develop your skills, as well as learning new ones. You will have a keen interest in farming and animal welfare, ensuring you match perfectly with the business' values.
In exchange for your experience and willingness to upskill yourself, our client is offering a competitive hourly rate, with the opportunity for overtime (paid at 1.5x your standard rate) when working anything over your allotted 40 hours per week. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, however you will need to have some availability for weekends to work with the demands of the business.
If this sounds like the perfect role for you, developing your already honed skills in poultry farming within a huge, national business, then apply today!
