Business Development Sales Executive

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a business specialising in high-quality, premium dessert products, who is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Business Development Sales Executive to join their team in Shipley on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive sales professional who thrives on generating new business, developing customer accounts and driving revenue growth.

The Role

You will play a key role in expanding the customer base and increasing sales across a diverse range of sectors, including dessert bars, farm shops, delis, hotels, golf clubs, restaurants, visitor attractions and hospitality businesses.
Your responsibilities will include:

• 
  Proactively identifying and winning new business through outbound cold calling, prospecting and customer visits.
• 
  Making approximately 15-20 outbound calls per working day.
• 
  Arranging appointments, presenting the premium dessert range and converting prospects into customers.
• 
  Developing existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling and increasing product sales.
• 
  Building strong, long-term relationships with customers and maximising sales opportunities.
• 
  Following up on enquiries, quotations and samples to secure new business.
• 
  Managing your sales pipeline, maintaining accurate CRM records and working towards agreed targets.
• 
  Representing the business professionally and demonstrating the quality and value of its products.

About You

We are looking for a natural salesperson who is hungry for success, confident in approaching new customers and resilient when faced with rejection.
You will bring:

  Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• 
  A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven attitude.
• 
  Confidence in cold calling, overcoming objections and closing sales.
• 
  Excellent organisation, time management and follow-up skills.
• 
  A commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop profitable opportunities.
• 
  The flexibility to manage customer visits and occasional evening appointments.
• 
  A full, clean UK driving licence.

Previous B2B sales or business development experience is highly desirable, particularly within food, drink, hospitality, foodservice or premium consumer products. A proven ability to win new customers and grow accounts would be a significant advantage.
