CNC Miller - Programmer / Setter / Operator

Location: Dartford

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Core hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hours per week)

Pay: £37,440 - £41,600 (dependent on skills and experience)

Overtime: Available when required (not guaranteed), paid at just under time and one third

About the Role

Stafforce are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role involving the programming, setting, and operation of 3-axis CNC milling machines, producing high-quality precision components to exact specifications.

Experience with Heidenhain controls is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines
  • Work with Heidenhain controls (preferred)
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Apply a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Produce precision components to tight tolerances
  • Select, set, and use appropriate cutting tools
  • Inspect components using a wide range of measuring equipment
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and health & safety
  • Work in accordance with company policies and procedures

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller (programming, setting, and operating)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good working knowledge of CNC tooling and machining processes
  • Confident using micrometres, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
  • Methodical, organised, and detail-focused approach
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Working Hours & Holiday

  • 40 hours per week
  • 30 days paid holiday (including public/bank holidays)
  • Overtime available when required (not guaranteed)
