Permanent Position - Immediate Start
Location: Amesbury
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30; Half Day Friday 08:30-12:30

We are currently recruiting a Dispatch Area working within the warehouse, where teamwork is essential. Your primary duties will include picking, checking, labelling, packing, wrapping, and promptly dispatching customer orders.

Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience in a dispatch environment, particularly with chemicals and hazardous materials. We are willing to provide training for candidates who show the right qualities for the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Carefully and accurately pick UK and Export customer orders, including both chemical and non-chemical products.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organise orders for packing, ensuring proper segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous items in line with dangerous goods shipping regulations.
  • Select appropriate packaging based on shipment type and requirements.
  • Implement best practices for carton and pallet configuration for each shipment.
  • Pack goods according to specifications, ensuring they are correctly labelled and securely prepared for transport.
  • Report any discrepancies to the team supervisor.
  • Properly segregate hazardous shipments and utilise specialised packaging for "Dangerous Goods Shipments."
  • Prepare and issue "Dangerous Goods Notes" for hazardous shipments, including ADR for road and sea and IATA for air transport.

Required Skills:

  • Experience operating a Forklift Truck (Counterbalance/Reach)
  • Knowledge of ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road)
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong team player
