We are seeking a highly skilled Dye Pen Inspector for our client in Teesside to perform non-destructive testing using dye penetrate techniques. The inspector will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of materials and components by detecting surface defects such as cracks, porosity, or other discontinuities. This role is critical in maintaining safety and compliance in industries like aerospace, manufacturing, construction, and energy.

Hourly Rate £13.84 Days 6-2

Nights - £18.41 8.45 - 6am

Over time £17.99

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dye penetrants inspections on various components, structures, and welds according to industry standards
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for inspection by applying penetrates, emulsifiers, and developers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and document surface discontinuities and defects.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports, noting findings, interpretations, and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during testing procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate NDTequipment to ensure accurate testing results.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and provide feedback.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in non-destructive testing methods.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of dye penetrate inspection processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret visual inspection results.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer literacy for report generation and data entry.
  • PCN

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to industrial environments
  • May involve working at heights, confined spaces, or various weather conditions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
