Engineering Compliance Manager

Location : Driffield, East Yorkshire

Sector : Food manufacturing, FMCG

Hours of Work : Monday to Friday days

Salary : £46,000 per annum

The role :

This role works very closely with the Site Engineering Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all engineering and maintenance work on the site is delivered in accordance with legislative and corporate requirements and regulations.

The role is "hands-off" but will require someone with solid understanding of maintenance in a manufacturing organisation.

The role is likely to be of interest to someone who is looking to get off the tools and/or off shifts and into a more office-based role. The successful candidate will also deputise for the Engineering Manager when necessary.

Engineering Compliance Manager duties will involve

  • Planning and preparing work orders
  • Leading root cause analysis investigation of failures
  • Reviews of current and proposed maintenance work and systems
  • Ongoing measurement of OEE
  • Reporting on cost of maintenance for induvial pieces of equipment
  • The delivery of engineering and maintenance projects
  • Maintenance and analysis of the CMMS
  • Ensuring that Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements are maintained at all times
  • Ensuring that all necessary training and development is delivered and recorded
  • Ensuring that adequate spares are held without tying up excess cash

Compliance aspects will include :-

  • Fixed wire, EICR, PFC and PAT testing
  • ATEX
  • Legionnaires
  • ISO
  • COSSH
  • BOAS
  • Safe system of work
  • IPAF
  • CAYGO

About you :

  • Degree qualified or time served in an engineering subject (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance or similar)
  • Multi-skilled preferred
  • Proven experience of working in maintenance and engineering in a manufacturing environment is essential. Food or FMCG manufacturing is preferred
  • HV experience is beneficial
  • Computer literate and familiar with CMMS (Shires, Pirana etc)
  • Experience of predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, condition monitoring, vibration analysis, lubricant analysis etc is beneficial
  • Experience of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience of leading to programmes to reduce waste / increase efficiencies within the engineering and maintenance department
  • Able to produce reports detailing OEE, downtime, budgetary performance, trends etc
