We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Temporary Finance Officer to support our clients finance team during a period of cover. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and experience using QuickBooks Online.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger

  • Issue Purchase Order numbers and ensure all spend remains within budget
  • Process purchase orders and invoices, uploading them into finance systems
  • Match purchase orders to invoices and ensure correct budget coding
  • Coordinate weekly supplier payments in line with agreed terms
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and anomalies

Sales Ledger

  • Process sales orders and raise sales invoices
  • Ensure invoice requests are accurate, correctly coded, and manage any credit notes required
  • Reconcile cash summaries against cash, card, PayPal, and invoice records
  • Maintain accurate records within finance systems
  • Carry out weekly credit control and escalate overdue accounts where necessary

Budget Management

  • Input budgets accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor spend by checking purchase orders against remaining budget

General Administration

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support across finance and office functions
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and email effectively
  • Assist with reception and administrative duties when required

About You

  • Experience using QuickBooks Online is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident working with financial systems and reconciliations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Team player with a flexible, hands-on approach
