About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established ham processing facility in Haverhill. This is a key role within the operation, leading production activities and ensuring performance targets are achieved across the shop floor.

Managing a team of up to 70 production staff, you will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate shift activities, and drive a culture of efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of up to 70 colleagues within the production area.
  • Ensure production targets, KPIs, and efficiency goals are achieved in line with operational requirements.
  • Oversee daily production schedules, resource planning, and staff allocation.
  • Monitor product quality and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Work closely with Technical, Engineering, and Planning teams to maintain smooth production flow.
  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) and support initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and performance data.
  • Foster a safe working environment and promote best practices in health and safety.

About You

  • Experience working in a supervisory, operational, or managerial role within food manufacturing or processing.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and manufacturing standards.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and deliver results against KPIs.
  • A proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) or Lean Manufacturing techniques is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
