Port Forklift Operator

Location: Immingham
Employment Type: 12 hour shifts
Salary: £12.21 - £15.07 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Port Forklift Operator to join our operations team at a busy commercial port. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in port logistics, stevedoring, container handling, or industrial warehouse environments.

As a Port Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient movement of cargo, containers, and materials within port and terminal facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely within port and terminal environments

• Load and unload cargo, pallets, and containers

• Transport goods between warehouses, docks, and storage areas

• Conduct daily pre-start forklift inspections

• Follow port safety procedures, traffic management plans, and WHS requirements

• Work closely with stevedores, logistics staff, and supervisors

• Maintain accurate load handling and documentation where required

Requirements

• Valid/ expired Forklift Licence

• Full UK Driving licence

• Previous experience as a forklift operator in ports, warehouses, or industrial sites

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety in high-risk environments

• Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime

• Physically fit, reliable, and safety-driven

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with container forklifts, reach stackers, or heavy forklifts

• Port, stevedoring, or logistics background

• Knowledge of port traffic rules and operational procedures
