General Engineering Labourer

Location: Mexborough, South Yorkshire

Pay rate: £12.21

Our client is seeking a dependable and adaptable General Engineering Labourer to join our production team. This is a hands-on role offering full training and career development in a supportive, team-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

Engineering Support:

  • Assist machinists, welders, and engineers with fabrication and assembly tasks
  • Operate basic workshop machinery and tools (e.g., chop saws, grinders, drills)
  • Work within our paint spraying booth to assist with finishing tasks

General Labour:

  • Safely handle and store materials around the site
  • Perform general housekeeping and light gardening duties
  • Use the company car for collecting and delivering parts, tools, or materials

Health & Safety:

  • Follow all site safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
  • Assist with maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition

Requirements

  • Experience: Some prior labouring or production experience is essential; experience in an engineering or manufacturing setting is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
    • Strong organisational and multitasking ability
    • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Other:
    • Full UK driving licence (essential)
    • Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
    • Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks and priorities

Desirable (Training Provided if Needed)

  • Experience with forklift and/or crane operation
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and gardening tools
