General Operative (Machine Operator)

Role Overview


Stafforce are currently seeking reliable and adaptable General Operatives to join our clients team based in Barnsley.
This role involves operating a variety of machinery, including sewing machines, alongside supporting general production duties. It is ideal for someone hands-on, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operating machinery, including sewing machines, safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out a range of general production and operational duties as required
  • Assisting with the setup and running of machines
  • Performing basic quality checks on finished products
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with company procedures
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operational tasks

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not essential
  • Comfortable working with machinery or willing to be trained
  • Good attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality work
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, flexible, and a good team player

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Full UK driving licence
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) experience or licence
  • Willingness to undertake training, including FLT if required

  • Full training provided, including machine operation
  • Opportunity to develop new skills and gain certifications
  • Supportive and team-focused working environment
