Stafforce are recruiting a Goods Inward Operative with a fork lift licence for a temporary to permanent role based in Peterlee. The Goods Inward Operative ensures the smooth receipt, inspection and storage of incoming goods. Maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency. Operating a forklift is a key part of the role to move and store goods appropriately. A valid external FLT licence and experience using it is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Goods Receipt & Inspection

  • Receive deliveries of goods and materials, checking documentation for accuracy.
  • Inspect items for quality, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages to the relevant department.

Inventory Management

  • Accurately log incoming goods into the inventory management system.
  • Label and store goods in designated areas, ensuring proper organization.
  • Conduct periodic stock checks to verify inventory accuracy.

Forklift Operation

  • Safely operate forklifts (counterbalance/reach truck, etc.) to unload deliveries and move stock.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines while operating machinery.
  • Conduct daily pre-use checks on forklifts to ensure proper functioning.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Valid external counterbalance forklift license
    • Previous experience in a goods-inward, warehouse, or logistics role.
    • Basic computer skills for inventory logging.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0800-1630 with a 1430 finish on a Friday.

Pay: £14 per hour

Interviews to be held as soon as possible.
