Industrial Cleaner

Location: Carlisle
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Split Shift)
Hours: 06:00-10:00 and 13:30-17:30

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Industrial Cleaner to join our team at a busy recycling plant in Carlisle. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping across the site, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all employees.
Due to the location of the site, applicants must have their own transport and be able to drive to work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general industrial cleaning duties throughout the recycling facility.
• Sweep, clean, and remove debris from production areas, walkways, and workstations.
• Maintain cleanliness in welfare areas, including canteen, offices, toilets, and changing facilities.
• Ensure waste and recyclable materials are disposed of correctly.
• Clean around machinery and plant equipment in line with site safety procedures.
• Use industrial cleaning equipment as required.
• Report any hazards, safety concerns, or maintenance issues to management.
• Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements

• Previous industrial cleaning, factory, warehouse, or manufacturing cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong work ethic with a proactive approach to housekeeping.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Comfortable working in an industrial/recycling environment.
• Must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the site location.
