The Job Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, blasting, and coating a variety of metal components used across engineering and fabrication projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong surface preparation and finishing skills looking for a long-term role in a reputable local engineering business.

  • Perform industrial spraying of metal components to the required specification and finish.
  • Carry out shot blasting to clean, prepare, and texture surfaces before coating.
  • Prepare surfaces through cleaning, masking, priming, and abrasive blasting.
  • Mix paints and coatings accurately according to job requirements.
  • Operate spray booths, blast cabinets, and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure work meets quality standards.
  • Maintain all spraying and blasting equipment, reporting any defects.
  • Work to production deadlines while following strict health & safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in industrial spraying, shot blasting, or a similar finishing/preparation role.
  • Strong understanding of paint systems, coatings, and surface prep methods.
  • Ability to read and follow job cards and specifications.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
  • Safety‑conscious and comfortable working in an industrial environment.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
