We are currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics Planner/ Coordinator on behalf of our client in Retford. This is a full time permanent position with progression opportunities.

As the Logistics Planner you will be responsible in ensuring the deliveries are booked in, loaded and delivered on time as per the customers' requirements to maintain the high level of customer service. You will communicate efficiently with the production planner and yard staff to ensure the product is manufactured and loaded in time for delivery, and follow this through with the external haulage sub-contractors to avoid any issues that may cause the delivery to be late.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the contracts team to ensure projects are delivered in the right order with the right amount of material such as ballast to complete the project.
  • Timely co-ordination with customers and supply only projects.
  • Logging all manufactured jobs onto the load schedule to track manufacture dates.
  • Review haulage rates with Logistics Manager.
  • Booking haulage, sending delivery schedules to relevant transport companies with enough notice to secure haulage.
  • Daily contract with transport companies/drivers and customers to ensure there are no issues that will affect a project.
  • General Transport admin, delivery documents.
  • Tracking any additional costs (waiting times, cancellations etc.) and passing the cost on to customers.
  • Working closely with all factories to ensure there are no issues and working to overcome situations such as broken slabs etc.
  • Organizing trailers to be loaded in advance if required.
  • Issuing work sheets to both factories for the daily yard work, keeping them updated throughout the day.
  • Highlighting all NCR's to Logistics Manager

Candidate Requirements:

· Excellent phone etiquette for communication with stakeholders

· Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.) essential.

· Previous experience with a CRM system would be beneficial but not essential, training will be given.

. Must be super organised.

Experience of working in a busy environment dealing with multiple changes throughout the day and adapting to the situation.
