📌 Position: Machinist - Horizontal Borer
📍 Location: Billingham
💷 Pay Rate: £15.18 per hour + shift allowance (3-shift rotation)

Stafforce is recruiting on behalf of a reputable client for a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist (Horizontal Borer) to join their production team in Billingham. This role is ideal for candidates looking for a stable, long-term opportunity, with the chance to move into a permanent position after a successful temporary period.
Machining Operations: Operate horizontal boring machines with precision to meet production specifications and deadlines. Horizontal borers are primarily used to enlarge or create precisely sized holes, ensuring high accuracy and tight tolerances. They are also used for milling, drilling, and other machining operations, particularly on large or complex parts.
Overhead Crane Operation: Safely handle and transport components using overhead cranes.
Weld Dressing (if required): Smooth and finish welds to ensure both structural and aesthetic quality.
Maintenance: Carry out basic maintenance of machinery and keep the work area clean and organized.
Quality Assurance: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and technical specifications.
Health & Safety: Follow all health and safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE and adherence to company procedures.
Experience: Proven experience in a machining role, ideally with horizontal borer operation.
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools
Overhead crane operation experience (certification preferred)
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Sound understanding of health and safety in an industrial setting
