  • Induction Rate: £13.09 per hour
  • Days (06:00 - 14:00): £15.18 per hour
  • Nights (20:45 - 06:00): £17.02 per hour
  • 🕒 Shifts: 2-shift rotation (Days & Nights)
  • 📄 Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Stafforce is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join their production team in Billingham. This is an excellent opportunity for long-term work, with the chance to secure a permanent position after a successful temporary period.


🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Machining: Operate machinery to produce components to tight tolerances and engineering specifications.
  • Component Handling: Use overhead cranes safely to transport and position materials.
  • Weld Dressing (if required): Finish and clean welded areas for both functional and visual quality.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks and keep your work area clean and orderly.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and verify against technical drawings.
  • Health & Safety: Always follow safety protocols and wear the correct PPE.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Background in a machining role, ideally in a heavy or precision engineering environment.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
    • Confident with precision measuring instruments
    • Overhead crane experience (certification preferred)
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    • Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace
