Working in partnership with Youngs Seafood in Grimsby we are recruiting a reliable, hardworking Material Controller.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an Employer of Choice that offers training opportunities and great pay, alongside real temp to perm opportunities
This position has immediate start and paid training.
FULL TIME:

  • 4on / 4 off 6am-6pm
  • Payrate £14.66/h

ABOUT THE JOB:

  • Execute daily SAP transactions, including goods receipt, goods issue, stock transfers and deliveries
  • Ensure all movements are accurate and promptly recorded to maintain good inventory control and visibility
  • Monitor stock levels and investigate any stock discrepancies
  • Assist with unloading and loading of vehicles adhering to agreed SOP for warehouse operations
  • Liaise closely with Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, Operatives and internal key stake holders to maintain good communication across site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine quality and food safety checks throughout the production process.
  • Monitor production areas to ensure products meet the required quality and specification standards.
  • Check product temperature, weight, appearance, labelling, packaging and presentation.
  • Complete and maintain accurate QA records, check sheets and documentation.
  • Carry out HACCP monitoring and verification checks as required.
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and other control points according to company procedures.
  • Ensure correct product identification, traceability, date coding and labelling.
  • Conduct hygiene and housekeeping inspections within production areas.
  • Check that employees are following good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Identify and report product defects, quality issues and food safety concerns.
  • Place affected products on hold when required and escalate issues to the appropriate manager.
  • Assist with investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Monitor corrective actions and ensure issues are followed up appropriately.
  • Carry out environmental and product checks as required by the site quality system.
  • Support internal audits, inspections and customer/third-party audits when required.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, clearly and within the required timeframes.
  • Communicate any quality or food safety concerns to the Production and Technical teams.
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or material control role would be desirable.
  • Good understanding of stock control procedures.
  • Good computer skills and experience in SAP.
  • Good numerical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
