The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role combining driving, basic vehicle maintenance, and site support. You'll play a key part in ensuring staff arrive safely on site each morning, while also supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a daily minibus pick-up and drop-off service for staff between a central Guildford location and site
  • Carry out routine vehicle safety checks, cleaning, and defect reporting
  • Support site transport movements, including taxis, parent drop-offs, and vehicle access

  • Carry out building and playground checks, recording and reporting any issues
  • Support pupil and learner safe transitions into site during busy morning periods
  • Assist with emergency or weather-related tasks when required

What We're Looking For

  • Full, clean UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (essential) - You must have a full UK licence with D1 entitlement (minibus). Most drivers who passed before 1997 already have this - please check the back of your licence.
  • Experience in a driving role
  • Basic vehicle maintenance skills
  • Some experience of grounds or site maintenance
  • Physically able to carry out manual tasks (lifting, bending, outdoor work)
  • A reliable, flexible, and safety-conscious approach
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, safeguarding procedures

Experience in education, care, or similar environments is advantageous but not essential.

What's On Offer

  • Part-time hours - ideal for work/life balance
  • Monday to Friday only - no evenings or shifts
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Free on-site parking
  • Staff discounts and wellbeing support
  • Pension scheme
  • Performance-related bonus and annual salary progression
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Long service awards and recognition schemes
