MULTI SKILLED ENGINEER

We are recruiting an Multi Skilled Engineer to join a highly prestigious food manufacturer in Hull (HU7). This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to work for a well-known Hull based company who offer career progression, training opportunities and great salaries (£48,000).

4 on / 4 off shift pattern

NIGHTS - 6pm-6am

The position of Multi Skilled Engineer is a permanent position that will commence with immediate effect however, if you do have a notice period with a current employer, we will work around this.

Job description

As a Multi Skilled Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining production machinery and ensuring downtime is minimised by continually improving equipment to meet the operational needs of the business. Your duties will include;

• Maintaining machinery and equipment to optimum standards safely with minimum downtime
• Providing a rapid response to breakdown situations and utilising time effectively
• Ensuring high standards of housekeeping are maintained
• Ensuring the efficient usage of spare parts, consumables, and equipment
• Maintaining open and constructive lines of communication with the Production Department
• Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule
• Liaising and escalating with all levels of management across all functions relating to engineering activities.
• Any administrative duties as required in the fulfilment of the engineering plan
• Document PPM checks and record any necessary corrective action
• Conducting risk assesses of all jobs
• Supporting the learning and development of the apprentices

The successful candidate:

To be considered for the position of Multi Skilled Engineer you must;

• Have experience of working in a chilled food FMCG industry
• Be qualified to HNC/NVQ Level 3 in any engineering discipline
• Be Electrically biased or fully multi skilled
• Preferably have worked with Handtmann, Reiser and Proseal machines
• Have a good understanding of systems, processes and procedures within the food industry
• Be able to work to KPIs, be self-motivated and prioritise workload efficiently
