Stafforce are recruiting a Multi-Skilled General Operative for our client based in Barnsley.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a manufacturing, production or industrial background who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. The successful candidate will work across multiple departments within the business, supporting production, machine operations and dispatch activities.

We're looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn every area of the operation. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to broaden their skillset and develop a long-term career within manufacturing.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled General Operative, you will be trained to support all departments across the business. Duties will include operating industrial sewing machines, working with larger production machinery, and assisting within the dispatch department preparing products for customer delivery.

No two days are the same, and flexibility is essential as you will be expected to learn and support different areas as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently
  • Learning and operating a variety of manufacturing and production machinery
  • Supporting production activities to ensure customer orders are completed on time
  • Carrying out quality checks and inspections to maintain product standards
  • Working within the dispatch department preparing orders for delivery
  • Shrink wrapping and palletising finished products
  • Picking, sorting and preparing customer orders
  • Loading and unloading materials where required
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Following all company procedures and health & safety guidelines
  • Supporting colleagues across all departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn all areas of the business
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented approach
  • Good communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Experience operating machinery within a manufacturing setting
  • Previous industrial sewing machine experience
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence or previous FLT experience
  • Willingness to undertake further training and gain additional qualifications
