Job Title: Port Plant Operative / Mobile Plant Operator

Location: Immingham
Employment Type: 12 hour shifts , casual and guaranteed hour contract available
Salary: £15.07 per hour after training and shadowing process is complete £12.21 training rate.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Port Plant Operative to join our operations team at a busy commercial port. This role is ideal for candidates with experience operating mobile plant and heavy machinery in port, maritime, logistics, or industrial environments.

As a Port Plant Operative, you will support port operations through the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment used in cargo handling, yard operations, and terminal activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate mobile plant and heavy machinery within port and terminal environments

  • Operate equipment such as Tugs, Tippers, Loading Shovels, excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, and yard plant

  • Assist with cargo handling, bulk material movement, and yard operations

  • Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine equipment maintenance

  • Follow port safety procedures, traffic management plans, and WHS requirements

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, stevedores, and logistics teams

  • Work safely in high-risk, high-traffic industrial areas


Requirements

  • Previous experience as a plant operative / mobile plant operator (port or industrial preferred)

  • Relevant plant tickets or competencies (e.g. loader, excavator, skid steer)

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime

  • Physically fit, reliable, and safety-focused
