Operatives - Port Environment (South Shields)
Pay: £14.54 per hour (days & nights)
Shifts: 12 hours (0600-1800 / 1800-0600), days, nights, and weekends

We have opportunities in the South Shields area for operatives working in a port environment. The role focuses on ensuring all operations involving our customer's cargo are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This is a great opportunity if you're looking for a varied role - working across different areas depending on business needs. Full port-specific training is provided, so experience is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely loading and unloading products in a timely manner

• Working rostered days, nights, and weekends (flexibility required based on vessel schedules)

• Providing quayside labouring duties and acting as a slinger banksman

• Always maintaining safety for yourself, colleagues, and visitors

Experience & Skills

• Desirable: Counterbalance FLT licence/experience

• Desirable: Slinger banksman experience

• Experience in a busy warehouse or port environment is beneficial but not essential
