Stafforce are looking for Quality Auditor, offering immediate starts for our client in Scunthorpe, DN15.
Our client is Sofina Distribution Centre one of the UK's leading pork processors, an employer of choice with ongoing staff requirements and competitive rates of pay, including overtime.
This position has immediate start and paid training.
FULL TIME:
- Monday to Friday 7am-3pm OR 8am-4pm
- Payrate £12.47p/h
- OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
- Perform audits to verify that all procedures, practices and despatch operations are being complied with and maintained in line with legal food safety requirements, company policy, and agreed customer's standards.
- Ensure knowledge and compliance of all Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Assist with the training and development of others where appropriate
- Ensure effective communications
- Ensure knowledge of and compliance with all Company Policies, Procedures and Rules and the Sofina Foods Code of Conduct
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.
- MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct scheduled/ planned various internal audits including good manufacturing practices (GMP), good hygiene practices (GHP), HACCP- Critical Control Points (CCP) and Control Points (CP), glass register etc.
- Complete Product specification, QAS and finished product box checks against specification.
- Complete product gas and label checks following correct procedure.
- Where product does not meet specification ensure correct procedures such as HOLD is followed and where required non-conformance and foreign body finds reports are raised and reported to your line manager in a timely manner.
- Responsible for auditing documentation in relation to the production process to ensure it is completed accurately and ensuring any issues identified are raised with the relevant departmental heads.
- Carry out verification checks to a set frequency for the In-line check weighers, scales and temperature probes to ensure they are operating correctly.
- Monitoring and verifying that standards laid down in the product specification for intermediate and finished products are achieved.
- Liaise with the Shift Technical Manager (Site technical lead in the absence of Shift TM) concerning day-to-day factory issues. Raise non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are monitored and implemented.
- Assist in the investigation of customer complaints, communicating findings to Technical Management and to the appropriate factory personnel.
- Assist where required in traceability exercises to the required schedule.
- In the absence of a QA Coordinator assist in conducting laboratory swabbing and sampling to schedule and as requested.
- In the absence of the QA Coordinator assist in any leader duties as requested.
- Carry out environmental manual temperature checks to the required schedule.
- Collect retained samples and maintain the QA sample shelves in an orderly manner.
- Assist in the preparing and supervise daily taste panels ensuring all the relevant paperwork is completed and raising any issues to the Technical Manager / Site Technical Lead.
- Where requested attend and assist in factory NPD trials.
- Collate all process control documentation on a shift basis for sign off, check and to subsequently maintain a filing system.
- Ensure factory rules are being adhered to by all Sofina Foods staff & agency staff at all times.
- Support continuous improvement in all areas of the operation where greater efficiency, hygiene, quality and safety could be achieved.
- Carry out any additional tasks/ conduct adhoc projects as assigned by Technical Manager / Site Technical Lead.
- There may be occasions when overtime or weekend work may be required to meet the demands of the business.
- To uphold consistency of approach to working procedures in line with company policies and procedures, BP's and health and safety regulations.
- To carry out (when appropriate) meat intake inspection following the QMS procedures. To ensure that all deliveries are to specification and to communicate non-conformances to the QA Team Leader / Quality Co-Coordinator (CCP's).
- To develop a proactive response to identifying issues, problem solving and corrective action.
- To monitor product quality and report issues to your Shift Technical Manager.
- To be an integral cross-functional team member with the ability to adapt to on-going issues in a positive manner.
- To develop an innovative approach to work, with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- To positively interface and communicate with other departments on site and to uphold positive attitudes between quality teams on both the day and evening shifts.
- To ensure administration duties are accurate and completed to required standards.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall function equal with the level of responsibility for the post as directed by your immediate line manager.
- To take ownership of housekeeping under the clean as you go policy for your own area specifically and across all areas generally.

- Experience of factory environment.
- Understanding of FMCG industry.
- Understanding of retailer products and quality standards preferable.
