Temporary Ongoing

Our long established Engineering client, based in Daventry are looking to recruit an ongoing, temporary 'Quality Inspector'.

Quality Inspector Role:

You will be responsible for the 'Quality Management System' and inspection processes to ensure conforming products. Work closely with internal & external key stakeholders; manufacturing staff and customers regarding technical support of their activities.

You will also be responsible for all areas of the Quality function and provide support to production.

Quality Inspector responsibilities:

  • Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies and sub assemblies in line with Engineering drawings, the Quality Management System and any customer specific requirements
  • Identify and report non-conformance s as per Company procedure and take an active role in root cause analysis, problem solving, containment and corrective action
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
  • Devise and establish the Company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Ensure full compliance of the Company Quality system with the requirements of International standards and in line with customer approvals
  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with production leadership
  • Be the key point of contact with customers and take responsibility resolving quality concerns
  • Monitor quality performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports as required
  • Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
  • Manage APQP and PPAP process
  • Document policies and procedures relating to quality functions
  • Support Production with the timely verification of first-offs, and batch inspections on a daily basis
  • Champion layered audit throughout the business

Quality Inspection Requirements:

  • Must have worked within a Quality Inspection role within the Engineering sector
  • Able to interpret and understand technical data including customer drawings and specifications
  • Experience inspecting precision components ensuring adherence to drawing requirements
  • Extensive experience in a range of manufacturing techniques including, CNC milling & turning
  • Experience with a wide variety of direct inspection gauges and measuring equipment
  • Experience with PPAP submissions
  • Experience using CMM (Manual) and other quality measuring equipment
  • Automotive industry experience desirable
