Stafforce are working on behalf of a leading contractor specialising in rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

Job Overview

As the project manager you will lead a team through the project life cycle by planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking a project plan. The project plan thoroughly explains how the project will be executed and includes a budget, timeline, schedule, roles, and responsibilities among other things. You will carefully estimate costs, calculate material needs, and map out project timelines. You'll liaise closely with all teams to keep the job on track. Day-to-day, you'll: Consult with clients to understand their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients to identify their needs.
  • Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents.
  • Identifying and weighing up commercial risks.
  • Assigning work to subcontractors.
  • Preparing bills of quantities.
  • Conducting feasibility studies.
  • Preparing cost estimates and budgets.
  • Analysing construction plans and specifications.
  • Evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts.
  • Monitoring project costs and preparing financial reports.

What is the role of quantity surveyor in post construction?

The Post Contract phase begins once the contract has been awarded and continues until the final account has been settled. During this phase, Quantity Surveyors are responsible for managing costs and ensuring that the project is delivered within budget.

What is the role of a quantity surveyor in building maintenance?

Quantity surveyors are involved in all phases of a facility's lifecycle such as feasibility, design, construction, extension, refurbishment, maintenance, and demolition. The competencies of quantity surveyors are aimed at producing constructions that meet the client's value system.

Available shift patterns;

Option 1

Working week 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday

7am - 12pm Friday. 1 hour lunch hour

Option 2

7.30am - 4pm. 30-minute lunch hour

7.30am - 12pm Friday

Option 3

7am - 3.30pm Monday to Thursday. 30-minute lunch hour

7am - 12pm Friday
