We are currently recruiting for a Raw Materials Planner onm behalf of our well established client based on the outskirts of Lincoln. This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable company.
Working Monday to Friday, 8am -4pm.
Job purpose:
Reporting to the Procurement & Planning Manager and working closely alongside the Production Planner & Intake Manager, you will be responsible for the timely ordering of all raw material ingredients to site to ensure the factory runs without stock-outs.
You will be required to effectively deputise for the Planning and Procurement Manager, and Production Planner where required.
Main duties:
· To plan and raise Raw Material purchase orders for delivery/collection to our site in accordance with the Production schedule and forecast.
· Work with the Intake Manager & wider team to ensure raw materials arrive and are unloaded in a timely manner.
· Be an active participant in the weekly planning meetings, voicing any known supply problems to enable plan change conversations to take place.
· Liaise with the Grove Road factory to transfer materials between sites when needed, to minimize stock-outs or utilize short-dated materials before they expire.
· Create & maintain good working relationships with suppliers via email, phone & in person.
· Complete relevant import paperwork for deliveries arriving outside of the UK.
· Upload pricing information to business systems and spreadsheets, minimizing invoice queries.
· Control the contract system with purchase order call off's, reconciling when necessary.
· Assisting with stock controls and reconciliations, correcting stock systems when necessary.
The above is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to assist with other duties that are commensurate with the role.
Skills and experience:
· Previous experience working with stock and material planning.
· Computer literate with experience of Microsoft applications, in particular Excel (with the ability to create lookups, pivot tables etc).
· Good time management and the ability to sort through tasks in a timely manner.
· Communication skills, written and verbal to effectively distribute information within the business, as well as customers and suppliers who may be visiting site.
· Can do attitude - willing to seek solutions to problems as they arise.
· A fast learner who can pick up information about the products they see daily, and of the products developed on site.
· Flexibility to be able to work in a different area of the business if required
· Willingness to further their development within the company, with courses and training sessions.
