Our client is one of the UK's leading aviation maintenance and repair specialists; and we are supporting them to recruit for an ambitious Recycling Operations Team Leader to take ownership of their recycling operation at their Erith facility

This is more than just a supervisory role. It's an opportunity to lead a specialist function, develop a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and play a vital role in supporting aviation safety across the industry.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Recycling Operations Team Leader, you will be at the heart of the operation, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of halon gas and related processes.

You will:

  • Lead and coordinate daily recycling and testing activities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure complete traceability
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, certification, and facility standards
  • Support production by ensuring timely gas availability
  • Develop, coach, and motivate a small technical team
  • Champion health & safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a proactive leader with strong technical capability and exceptional attention to detail.

Essential

  • Experience within a technical, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or highly regulated environment
  • Strong inventory management and record-keeping skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities
  • Confidence using digital systems and IT applications
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Desirable

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of gas handling, testing, or quality management processes
