We are recruiting for a new Catering Manager for immediate start. As this is working in school a DBS check will be required. This opportunity will be working in a secondary school academy that serves 450 meals per day and could lead to permanent work for the right candidate.

LA4 - Morecombe area.

Hourly rate of pay is up to £17phr and £28k when permanent - pro rata on 43 weeks paid term time.

Hours of work:

8am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday

School Hours and term time only.

Duties including but not limited to:

  • You'll be responsible for the kitchen management which will include but not limited to: management of other staff, ordering, stock control and hygiene standards within the kitchen.
  • Prepare, cook and serve school meals to children throughout their break and lunch time making sure to maintain good stock levels providing a choice for children throughout service.
  • Been involved in the menu planning for the week ahead making sure to meet dietary requirements as well as providing choice to the pupils.

Experience:

  • Previous kitchen or catering management experience from an education background or contract catering.

Qualifications and Skills

You will need to: -

  • Have the ability to work under pressure as children only have a certain length of time to eat their food so speed of service has to be quick
  • Hold food hygiene certifications
  • Have the ability to hold answer questions on food hygiene/ food safety within the kitchen
  • Have catering or kitchen management experience
  • Strong Leadership experience
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers
