Job Title: School Cleaner

Location: Stainton, Penrith

Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM (15 hours per week)

Contract Type: Part-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is vital to ensuring that the school remains a welcoming and healthy place to learn and work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas as directed
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces
• Refill soap, toilet paper, and hand towels in washrooms
• Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate staff
• Lock and secure classrooms and cleaning cupboards after use
• Follow all health & safety and infection control procedures
• Use cleaning materials safely and appropriately as instructed

Requirements:

• Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential)
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Understanding of hygiene and cleaning standards, especially in educational settings
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one before starting work)
