Job Purpose
This role is critical to the success of our organization, overseeing all project elements-including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. The Project Coordinator ensures projects remain within budget while meeting customer requirements and expectations.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing their involvement in contract execution and setting clear expectations throughout fulfilment.
- Support the Engineering Manager in delivering projects from initial conception to final completion, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Assist Design and Project Engineers in project delivery, serving as a secondary client contact when needed and ensuring contract requirements are met.
- Define client and project specifications, objectives, schedules, and responsibilities by reviewing documentation, identifying customer requirements, and consulting with the management team.
- Oversee budget management and cost control to maintain financial diligence and meet profitability targets.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and resolve any arising issues.
- Evaluate systems and products by designing and conducting testing programs and analysing customer requirements.
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes, including designing and modifying equipment for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Collect, analyse, and summarise data for installation, testing, quality control, packaging, and weekly reports.
- Provide technical support to the sales team by evaluating inquiries, preparing technical offers, analysing project specifications, and designing solutions.
- Lead, train, and assess the performance of Design and Project Engineers, organising necessary training or interventions for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Subsea Energy Solutions Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and instructions, working with management to implement them within the team.
- Contribute to various departmental tasks to ensure responsiveness to company needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager, Directors, or Senior Management Team.
Key Skill Requirements
- Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline (HND must be supported by relevant work experience). Alternative qualifications may be considered.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Experience in a technical role involving project planning and cost control.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in CAD modelling and drawings, with experience in design analysis (Solid Works experience is a plus).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety standards, with a focus on implementing improvements based on root cause analysis.
- High level of initiative and independent decision-making ability, with a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
- Possession of a valid UK Full Driving Licence.
Nice to Have
- Experience in manufacturing products for the oil, gas, or renewable energy sectors.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Project Management Qualification.
- Strong knowledge of offshore operations.
Development in Role
- Gain technical and commercial experience to progress toward the Engineering Manager position.
