Senior Design Engineer

  • Monday-Thursday: 08:30-17:00

  • Friday: 08:30-15:00

A leading steel‑infrastructure manufacturer is seeking a proactive Senior Design Engineer to support and guide its growing engineering team. This role blends hands‑on design work with team coordination, planning and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the internal engineering design team.

  • Plan and delegate design workload; communicate lead times.

  • Produce and review engineering designs for steel infrastructure products.

  • Create 3D CAD models and drawings (SolidWorks preferred).

  • Carry out structural calculations and support FEA work.

  • Collaborate with project management, production, procurement and sales.

  • Ensure accurate, high‑quality design output within deadlines.

  • Provide technical guidance and resolve design/manufacturing queries.

About You

  • Degree in engineering or related discipline.

  • Experience in steel manufacturing or fabrication.

  • Strong 3D CAD skills (ideally SolidWorks).

  • Knowledge of structural calculations; some FEA experience.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Proactive, solutions‑focused and confident leading others.
