Stafforce Cumbria are thrilled to be partnering with a leading logistics business in their search for a Night Shift Manager to oversee night shift operations within a large factory operation in Carlisle. With genuine opportunity for quick career progression in the short to medium term, this role is perfect if you are looking to further your personal development as a great people manager.

Our client is an expert provider of industry-leading transportation solutions, working within every major industry, and operating globally. This role would see you managing a team of approximately 5 employees, as well as the overall warehouse/transport operation. Our client is being extremely open-minded with regards to your previous experience, and would much rather meet with candidates with first-class people management skills than solely those with a warehouse/factory background.

Day to day tasks will include:

- Personal development of staff members

- Ensuring compliance with site standard working practices and all H&S requirements

- Continuous reviewing of operational methods, procedures and efficiency

- Overseeing the site KPI's

- Reducing any waste and/or damage to product

Your experience in people management will ensure that you are adept at enthusing and motivating your team, especially important when working the night shift, and you will be business-minded, understanding that the actions of you and your team can and will affect the bottom line. You will be used to working alongside people of all seniority levels and backgrounds, and will be just as comfortable liaising with those in your team as you are with the Operations Manager. Your organisational skills are second to none, and you will be fluent with a variety of IT programmes, including Microsoft Office suite and ideally SAP. Crucially you will have some idea of how to effectively manage within an FMCG and unionised environment. Some experience of FLT operation would be looked on advantageously but is not crucial.
