Hull City Centre | Temporary to Permanent | Immediate Start Available
Stafforce Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Sign Maker to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Hull city centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking to secure a long-term position within a supportive, employee-focused environment.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 6:30am - 2:30pm
  • Friday: 6:30am - 1:30pm
  • 40 paid hours per week
  • Paid breaks included

Contract Type


For the role as Sign maker this is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity with an immediate start available. We are happy to accommodate notice periods for candidates currently employed.

The Role


As a Sign Maker, you will play a key role in the production and assembly of a diverse range of bespoke signage solutions for commercial customers. Working within a busy workshop environment, you'll be responsible for ensuring all products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities for Sign Maker

  • Vinyl cutting, weeding, and application
  • Manufacturing and assembling bespoke signage, including:
    • Tray signs
    • Built-up letters
    • Panels
    • Vinyl graphics
  • Working with a variety of materials including:
    • Aluminium
    • Acrylic
    • Foamex
    • Composite panels
    • Wood and metal
  • Operating workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Interpreting job specifications and technical drawings
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure a high standard of finish
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Supporting colleagues to meet production targets and customer deadlines

About You


To be successful in this role as a sign maker, you will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' sign making experience
  • Strong knowledge of vinyl application techniques and sign production processes
  • Experience working with a range of sign-making materials
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

  • Starting pay rate of £12.71 per hour, increasing to £13.50 per hour once fully trained
  • Overtime paid at:
    • Time and a Half for the first hour
    • Double Time thereafter
