We're on the lookout for an Estimator to join our well established and respected client based in Loughborough on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience).

Hours: 07:45 - 16:45 Monday - Thursday and 07:45 - 14:15 on Friday.

The Role:

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for receiving new enquiries, estimating and converting orders into manufacturing packages for fabrication. You will also be required to provide a detailed handover of the quotation to the Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read technical tender drawings.
  • Extract and price materials.
  • Proactively interact with other members of the team to produce competitive bids.
  • Using practical knowledge put times to costing materials, labour, site operations including plant to complete comprehensive take-off and tender submission.
  • Establish supply chain costs to be included in tenders.
  • Generate quotation documents and send to clients.
  • Liaise with customers, identifying and securing business opportunities from both existing and new clients.
  • Negotiate and complete tenders to sales.
  • Build up a consistent system of market prices
  • Provide a timely response and an exceptional level of service to all enquiries.
  • Follow up initial submission with client feedback.
  • Upon tender award, set up and present to a handover meeting with Contracts team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of structural, secondary, and architectural steel work.
  • Experience within a similar Estimating role within the industry.
  • Ability to read Technical/architectural drawings.
  • Understanding of building law and regulations, contract law and health & safety law.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent financial and numerical skills and sound commercial awareness.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Familiar with TEKLA Structures Software.
