Job Title: Telehandler Operator

Pay Rate: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Telehandler Operator for a specialist recycling company within the utilities industry, offering great benefits such as a company vehicle and a temporary to permanent role.

The primary responsibility for this role is to operate a telehandler with a bucket attachment to load bulk treated waste materials (compost form), into lorries for delivery to farms for use as fertiliser. You will be required to travel between sites using company vehicle provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a telehandler equipped with a bucket for loading bulk materials waste into lorries for transportation.
  • Accurately log and track all loads using the on site tablet, including details of all materials moved and operations conducted.
  • Conduct daily checks of the operational area to ensure safety and confirm all necessary equipment is in place before starting operations.
  • Perform standard checks and basic maintenance on the telehandler to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Use the on site tablet for communication, including calls, emails, and messages regarding stock movements and internal coordination.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating a telehandler, particularly with a bucket attachment for loading bulk materials.
  • Full UK driving license to drive company van.
  • Tractor driving experience/license beneficial but not essential.
  • Health and safety conscious, ideally within a utility or water treatment environment.
  • Ability to accurately log and record information using digital devices.
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination on-site.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to conduct pre-operational checks and maintenance of machinery.

Working Hours:

  • Start times typically at 6 am or 7 am, with shifts lasting between 8 to 10 hours, depending on site requirements.
  • Overtime in the week and weekends is frequent so flexibility is essential.
