Take the lead in a busy HGV workshop where quality, safety, and performance drive everything.

We're proud to be recruiting for a fast-growing, well-established logistics and transport business based in Gwent area, South Wales. As their operations continue to scale, they're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of their HGV workshop team.

If you've got a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, especially in commercial/HGV environment and are ready to step into a key leadership role, this could be the perfect fit.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of a busy commercial vehicle workshop
  • Managing, leading, and developing a team of HGV Technicians and Fitters
  • Allocating jobs, setting priorities, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and on time
  • Handling diagnostics, quality control, and job inspections
  • Working closely with the planning team to coordinate breakdowns and maintenance schedules
  • Managing workshop systems, parts ordering, and ensuring continuous workflow
  • Enforcing Health & Safety compliance and promoting safe working practices
  • Supporting recruitment, staff training, and performance reviews
  • Reporting on workshop KPIs, productivity, and operational performance

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a workshop supervisor or manager role (HGV/Commercial vehicle focus preferred)
  • Strong technical understanding of vehicle maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and legal compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Working knowledge of workshop software systems and MS Office
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 / C+E Licence desirable but not essential)
